GOED, the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3s, will hold its GOED Exchange event, a high level conference for companies involved in the omega-3 business February 4-6, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The GOED event will include an IFFO certification workshop. Registration is now open here.

The event brings together experts in business, scientific and regulatory issues facing the omega-3 industry. Conference topics include sustainability, omega-3s and their impact on public health, an underwater tour with renowned marine biologist David Guggenheim and case studies from finished product companies.

The IFFO Workshop, Certifying Marine Ingredients: Why It\'s Important to Your Business, will be led by Dr Andrew Jackson. He will explain how manufacturers throughout the supply chain - including refined oil suppliers and supplement manufacturers - can benefit from being part of a certified supply chain, providing customers with transparency and confidence in the products they are buying. This workshop will discuss the different factors to consider when choosing a standard to cover fish oil. Participants will learn of the different elements of the IFFO Responsible Supply standard (IFFO RS) and its associated Chain of Custody, what claims can be made, and equally important, what claims cannot be made, as well as the benefits to companies throughout the supply chain.
