Aller Aqua Group strengthens its R&D department

Effective June 1, 2008, Jens-Erik Zerrahn will be responsible for Aller Aqua’s R&D department and will together with the R&D staff be a very important player in the company’s ambitious goals for the future.

Zerrahn holds an MSc. Agric from the Royal Danish Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen, Denmark, and has been working in various positions consulting for hog producers and within the feed industry since 1995. Recently he has been working as Global Technical Support Manager at Chr. Hansen A/S, were he has been managing the global technical services for feed probiotics for the feed industry and the global distribution network. Zerrahn has a solid experience in developing and launching new, innovative solutions into the feed industry to create added value in today’s livestock production.

The Aller Aqua Group is among the largest feed producers of fish feed for fresh water species in the European continent. The company has factories in Denmark and Poland and, together with its partners in the new company Emsland-Aller Aqua GmbH, is in nearing completion of its state-of-the-art fish feed factory in Germany.

In his new position at Aller Aqua Jens-Erik Zerrahn will be responsible for driving the development to secure Aller Aqua`s leading position as supplier of high performing feeds to a large variety of species in its wide product portfolio, as well as initiation of new projects aimed at securing a sustainable aquaculture production.

Zerrahn will be responsible for Aller Aqua providing superior technical services to its large portfolio of customers, distributors and cooperative partners worldwide. Aller Aqua management said it was looking into a very exciting and challenging future, where R&D will have a top priority in all its markets.
