Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods) obtained the carbon neutral organization certification from Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO).

According to the TGO executive director, Kiatchai Maitriwong, TGO is endeavoring to impose cooperation from all stakeholders to fight against climate change problems and accomplish the net-zero emission goal accordingly to the UN's global roadmap. The CP Group is at the forefront of this initiative and the Pakthongchai feed mill certification demonstrate the company’s efforts in reducing greenhouse gas emissions

According to Rewat Hathaisattayapong, executive vice president at CP Foods, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save energy, the company’s animal feed business increased biomass energy and solar power utilization and automation at the feed mill. Furthermore, the feed mill made carbon compensation to balance unavoidable GHG emissions to achieve carbon neutrality status.

“This Carbon Neutral certification from the TGO shows that Pakthongchai Feed Mill is a model for sustainable feed production. CP Foods will continue to move forward to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to achieve the net zero greenhouse gas emission target together,” said Rewat Hathaisattayapong.

Finally, TGO has also awarded twelve CP Foods plants that were able to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions fitting to the Low Emission Support Scheme (LESS) project.
