Insect meal has become a new alternative to fishmeal, especially after its European authorization. Many startups have been built, being able to provide significant quantities of insect meal to allow feed companies to test new formulations.
Le Gouessant is testing this new raw material since the end of 2018. The company is considering how insect meal can be integrated into their processing and is testing a new formulation on rainbow trout. They expect to have their first results in the spring of 2019.
