Nutreco and Royal DSM has responded to recent media speculation by issuing a statement confirming they have decided to jointly explore the possibility to acquire Provimi, should this opportunity arise.
As recently reported on Aquafeed.com (Provimi attracts numerous takeover bids in first round - 06/29/2011), newswires, including Blloberg, said Permira Advisers LLP had received bids from Nutreco NV, China’s New Hope Group Co. Cargill and Royal DSM for French feed manufacturer Provimi SA. They speculated the sale could fetch more than $2.6 billion.
