The 10th Shrimp Health Management Training Workshop is underway in Bangkok, Thailand
Alltech Aqua, in conjunction with the Network of Aquaculture Centres in Asia-Pacific (NACA), are providing the popular five and half day workshop, from October 3-8, 2005, for shrimp industry professionals with attendees from India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Brunei, Madagascar, Tanzania, Indonesia, Thailand.
Daniel Fegan, President, World Aquaculture Society (WAS) and Regional Technical Manager - Aquaculture for Asia Pacific, Alltech Inc., outlined the program. “The workshop covers a wide scope of management practices for shrimp production ranging from life cycle, breeding programmes, pond management to disease control, as well as a 2 day field trip. It has been 3 years since the last workshop and in this time a lot has changed in the shrimp industry with the broad introduction of P. Vannamei”.
Alltech Inc., a provider of natural feed ingredients for the Aquaculture industry, and NACA, report record numbers and are looking at ways to develop this workshop across the region further in 2006.
