Novus celebrates 20 years' of Innovation with Integrity

Novus International Inc., is celebrating 20 years of Innovation with Integrity beginning with the opening of their new Chennai, India office. Thad W. Simons, Jr., President and CEO and Giovanni Gasperoni, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing attended a celebration January 13, 2011 in Hyderabad, India, as well as the Asian Pacific Aquaculture 2011 exposition, reinforcing Novus’s ongoing commitment to provide innovative and sustainable solutions to help achieve its vision to “help feed the world affordable, wholesome food and achieve a higher quality of life,” is featured in this celebration.

In recognition of the rapidly growing South Asia market, Novus has created a new world area business unit for South Asia and has established a new legal entity in India called Novus Animal Nutrition (India) Pvt. Ltd.  This new business unit has dedicated resources and has appointed the well-known feed industry specialist Dr. Vaibhav Nagpal as Sales Director.

Dr. Vaibhav Nagpal, Sales Director commented, “The opening of our office in Chennai, India and the rapid expansion of our sales, marketing, technical, logistics, customer service and production teams demonstrates our solid commitment to working with our customers and other industry stakeholders in India and other South Asia countries.”  He also recognized Novus’s Indian business partners Tirumala, Simfa, Chokhani and Devee Biologicals who Novus has worked closely with to help customers achieve greater production efficiencies and minimize environmental impacts.  Key areas of focus for the South Asia team include helping customers increase the supply of animal protein to meet global demands through sustainable agriculture practices, use of local by-products, improved animal health and nutrition, as well as commitment to food safety and animal well-being.

“We are striving to bring innovative programs and products to address the challenges experienced by our customers to improve their profitability and productivity while being environmentally sustainable,” said Dr. Nagpal. “We look at health and nutrition issues from a holistic perspective, recognizing that only an integrated approach will make a clear, sustainable economic difference to our customers.  The challenge is complex and involves multiple inter-related issues, recognizing that it is an oversimplification to expect a single product to solve a multi-faceted problem.”

Dr. Nagpal explained that meeting this rapidly growing demand for animal protein will require attracting and developing new talent, not only for Novus, but for the benefit of the entire industry.

“We have established strong technical collaboration partnerships with several institutes including Bombay Veterinary College to help us develop effective solutions relevant to our local customers and encourage students in animal agriculture to develop strong research programs.  For example, we are conducting a two year research project with the Bombay Veterinary College on chelated trace mineral requirements for layers and broilers in India.”
According to Dr. Nagpal, “the future of Novus in South Asia looks positive and exciting: through organic growth, acquisitions and technology partnerships”.
