Novus Presents Fifth Annual Sustainability Report

Partnering with Stakeholders to Advance Sustainability Efforts is the Central Theme
June 20, 2013

Novus International released its fifth annual sustainability report that provides detailed information and examples of how the company works hand-in-hand with its stakeholders and network of business partners to improve and advance their sustainability efforts. Nurturing its business as a network of partnerships is central to the company’s commitment to help feed the world affordable, wholesome food and achieve a higher quality of life.

“We know that one company alone may not affect the large-scale change needed to secure our sustainable future, however we strive to set a standard for sustainability” notes Thad Simons, President and CEO at Novus International. “By working together to advance shared objectives, we can succeed in making a better life for ourselves and for future generations. This report serves to reinforce the value we place on these partnerships.”

Numerous examples of the successful partnerships Novus has in place to further its corporate mission are highlighted in this year’s report.

“We work with our stakeholders to meet their goals and find we share similar objectives in most cases,” comments Alex Pierroutsakos, Director, Internal Audit, Quality Assurance and Control and EHS&S at Novus. “While there are many sustainability aspects that are relevant to our journey and to our stakeholders, we believe there are five significant issues that reflect a combination of stakeholder interests and our own business growth. These include supporting the profitability of our customers, delivering innovative and effective solutions for complex feed problems, maintaining an empowering workplace, developing the talent pipeline in the agri-sector and maintaining partnerships for sustainable productivity. Everything we do is focused on succeeding in these five critical areas.”

The 2012 Novus Sustainability report applies The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Framework at Application Level B. GRI is a non-profit, multi-stakeholder organization which acts to increase the level of business transparency by promoting sustainability reporting among companies throughout the world. The main tool for assimilating sustainability reporting is the GRI reporting framework that contains detailed guidelines for reporting on sustainability impacts and provides a consistent structure that thousands of companies around the world now use to disclose their approach and performance related to sustainability.
